Welcome to A Generation's Battle Cry. My prayer is that you will be challenged and blessed by what you read here; and if it inspires you to attempt to do great things for God, to God be the glory!

180

180 is a film produced by Ray Comfort, comparing the horrors of the Holocaust to the holocaust of abortion in our society today. This moved me so much as someone standing for pro-life, and I felt I had to share it here with you all. PLEASE be cautious in watching, though, this film is very graphic, and has real footage of the Holocaust and a few showings of aborted babies/abortions. But please don't let it turn you away from watching it. Only when our eyes are open to seeing this will our passion be truly moved, and we will be willing to stand against the holocaust of our generation.

Are we going to let history repeat itself?

Abortionists vrs. Terrorists...

We're fighting wars against terrorists, and yet how many are fighting the war against abortion? Why fight another country for their sin if we aren't fighting our own?

Anybody think we have our priorities a little messed up here???

The Pursuit of Happiness, Liberty, and THEN... life???

I think everyone has heard the well known words, "Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happieness," that we say are God-given rights to all, stated by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence. I have been pondering those words for quite some time, and have come to realize some truths about the phrase that are affecting our society, as well as how if those truths are ignored, how they will affect the hearts and actions of that same society.

There are great effects on a society who replaces God with their own philosophys, opinions, and beliefs. Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, held to the view of evolution, and that only those who were considered the supreme race were fit to live... she brought this view into the realm of abortion. As her beliefs grew stronger she made several claims that the unborn child was least fit to live, and that if in any way it would affect the happiness of the mother, the best option for that woman was to kill her unborn child. Because evolution gives every man the right to make their way in the world, no matter what it may cost to those who may appear as inferior to them, it gives them the right to choosing whether their fellow-man may live or die. It gives no value to LIFE, for it is only the survival of the fittest that is at stake, and no other thought is given to the matter. But I challenge that thought. God has told us that all men are created equal. All who have LIFE are given THE RIGHT TO LIFE,  the hope of liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Those who challenge this, challenge God and the inate morals to respect life that were placed there by the Creator. He is the author of our liberty, and the One who gives us the choice to pursue happiness. Yet these two truths just stated cannot be had in their God-given sense and order without FIRST giving place to Life at head of the three. If Life is not cherished, where is our Liberty? All our claims to freedom, to the pursuit of happiness, will produce are chains if not guided by a respect for Life. Think only on the many women who suffer post-abortion affects because they chose their "happiness" (of a very temporal sort) over the Life of their child. I regret to submit to you that our Society has spoken the words "Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness" in their God-given order, yet they have lived them in the opposite order. I ask now how long we shall pursue our temporary happiness and "rights" over LIFE, which is much more valueable then either of the aforesaid. My own Mama, as a teen-age mother, had the choice before her to abort me as an easy way out, or to choose my life over her own temporary happiness for a season of life. I praise God she did not abort me. She could have. She has even told me how she was pressured to by some close family... and I would not be here today if she had followed through with an abortion. And I believe God spared my life by His providence, and I live now today as a debtor to that. My Mama is a living testimony of a woman who chose to sacrifice her "liberties" as a woman, and her happiness for a season, to save a life. I am blessed for that. Now I ask you, how are you living out those words from the Declaration of Independence? Are you choosing Liberty and The Pursuit of Happinness over LIFE? Are you fighting for LIFE, if you are a pro-lifer, instead of pursuing your temporary comfort right now? Or do we have it backwards? Only when we have these three in their proper order do we have TRUE LIFE, and one that is in line with the heart and thought-processes of our Creator and God. We must return to Him, and His sacred view of Life for our nation to be healed of this. Only God will change this. Let's turn to Him for LIFE, and LIFE more abundant.

Tawney Rae

Tears Fall...

Another video from the Mona Lisa project. I think that the reality of abortion has become even more vivid and true to me lately. Something that I am seeing we need to take a stand for even more desperately then ever. It's insane that we aren't completely disturbed and shocked by it. Think of all the activists for slavery that stood against such injustice against their fellow-men, or against the threats of Hitler against the Jews, and yet how many people stand against the MURDER OF AN UNBORN CHILD? I don't think that we realize that we're living in history too, here. That this is the genocide of our day, and yet we see it as common-place and aren't even shocked by it anymore. Why on earth are we being silent??? Mrs.Hinman sang a song in Church for us today that spoke of how if we belive something -and I mean, TRULY belive it- that we will speak about it, that we will cry for it,... "tell me why, then, are your eyes so dry?" Why aren't our tears falling for these children? Why aren't our heart's breaking? Oh, God, forgive us. Let our tears fall down, Lord.

This song is called exactly that,... Tears Fall. I love this song because it expresses so well what the people of God should be feeling about this subject, and where our Hearts should be. Someday I would love to have a chance to sing this,...

Listen to it and let your heart be broken, softened and made passionate for change to come.

Let the tears fall down. Let them soften this ground. May our Heart's be found. God forgive us now.

Tawney Rae

The Mona Lisa Project, by Lila Rose part 2

Hello readers,

This is another one of the Mona Lisa project videos. Praise God this has shed some light on the deciet of Planned Parenthood. I pray more of our generation will take a stand against it. We live in a country of liberty, where we may speak openly about our beliefs... yet we abuse it. All our claims to freedom have produced are chains of bondage for the young girls who are going to suffer physically and emotionally for their "right to choose". Just being honest with you fellowbelievers, I am sick and tired of us Christians being the ones to back down from speaking out against these issues. We think that since we're Christians we have to keep quiet-- putting up the spiritual front of "but I'm just being meek like Jesus told us to be." Tell me, did the Jews expect Jesus to come and cast away their rituals and systems of belief? Did they expect Him to bring the contention and questioning that He did? They expected a Saviour who would conquer the Romans, yes. But it was so He might bring them... PEACE. What a shock they must have had when He questioned and confronted them, opposed their rituals. It's time we followed His example, and decided to shake things up a bit in this world. Take a stand. Quit sitting around for someone else to do it. Quit seeking peace. We live in a time when our culture seeks only after peace- comfort. I'm sick and tired of us as Christians sitting in our comfortable little Churches, complaining about the wickednesss around us, yet not doing anything about it because... we don't want to offend anybody, or have to wonder what people think about us, or go beyond our comfort zones. Ok, people,.....

LIFE ISN'T A POPULARITY CONTEST, SO QUIT ACTING LIKE IT IS!!!

Don't we realize there's a lot more at stake here then what people... THINK OF US? Like with abortion -which so few Christians seem to actively get involved in fighting- do we really realize over 3,000... yes, 3,000, babies are getting murdered A DAY in the US alone? So why on earth are we keeping silent about it? This is war for us - that's why this blog is named "A Generation's Battle Cry"- so why aren't we fighting? We are without excuse, and when we Christians get to heaven someday there will be blood on our hands for it because we did nothing. How can we be silent? I regret to submit to you that we are only silent because we are not passionate about the things God is passionate about. If we become passionate about the things He is passionate about we will not be able to keep from speaking out. Like I told someone once, it's like fire. Keep holding it close to you long enough, all it will do is burn you; you hold it out for others, it spreads warmth and light. So tell me what are you doing about the fire, the passion, He has given you?

                                                   DON'T BE SILENT.

DON'T SACRIFICE YOUR CALLING FOR COMFORT.

Here are the videos... please pray that God would give you a passion to step beyond your own comforts and to what God would have you to be involved in.

"It's not like a person?"
"No."

How can we be silent when those who are so voiceless are being murdered and considered less then human? God give us the heart to speak for these innocent children. Break our hearts, dear God. God, open our mouths to speak the truth in love and compassion, but with the boldness of Your Son...           Amen.

Tawney Rae

The Mona Lisa Project, by Lila Rose

Hello everyone.

Sorry that posting has been so delayed lately; life has been busy and filled to the brim and running over with a lot of things... enough to keep me constantly busy or catching my breath. I hope you all understand. I will try to be more consistent here in the future if possible! I thought I would let you know we are going to break the rules of blogging here... :) We are going to delay the series that just "kicked-off", due to the fact I believe the Lord is leading me to speak of other things, and has given some direction as to where He wants it to go...
This little series will be another "vlogging" type of series. This is a project started by Live Action; a teen-ran, pro-life organization, founded by Lila Rose, pro-life activist. I love the passion these teens and young adults put into the work of fighting for the unborn, and I felt led to bring The Mona Lisa Project to you reader's attetion. These upcoming videos are undercover stings conducted mainly by Lila, against Planned Parenthood. In several states in the US, parental consent is necesssary to obtain an abortion. Lila posed several times as a girl under the age of consent, who had been impregnated by her adult "boyfriend", which is considered statuatory rape. When health proffesionals become aware of statuatory rape they are to report it immediately to authorities. Instead, the Planned Parenthood workers would give Lila advice as to how to secretly obtain an abortion through them, without the necessary parental consent, cover up the abortion, and counseled her to continue with the relationship with her "boyfriend". This was  proven to be a regular process at P.P., after investigation was done by authorities following Lila's undercover stings. Sadly, many cases very similar to the one Lila posed have been found. We must open our eyes and realize the deciet that Planned Parenthood offers to young girls, as well as the road it sends them back upon after being sent back to situations of sexual abuse. It is time that our generation stood against the lies of abortion and use our voices to challenge the very giants who are slaying those who are voiceless. Are you willing to be the change that we are waiting for, praying for, in America? Are you willing to stand against abortion and use your voice to raise a cry for the innocent child of the womb?

This is the second video in the Mona Lisa Project; as I could not obtain the first. You can watch the first on Live Action's website, at liveaction.org

God give us a heart for the unborn. For the girls who are being decieved by Planned Parenthood.
Oh God, fogive us now.

Little is much when God is in it...

"In the harvest field now ripened there's a work for all to do; hark, the voice of God is calling, to the harvest calling you.

Little is much when God is in it! Labour not for wealth or fame. There's a crown, and you can win it, if you'll go in Jesus' name.

Does the place you're called to labour seem so small and little knwon? It is great if God is in it; and He'll not forget His own.

Are you laid aside from service? Body worn from toil and care? You can still be in the battle, in the sacred place of prayer.

When the conflict here is ended, and our race on earth is run, He will say to all the faithful "Welcome home, my Child, well done."

Little is much when god is in it! Labour not for wealth or fame. There's a crown and you can win it, if you'll go in Jesus' name."

The Art of Inward Greatness series, part 1

Hello everyone,

Sorry this has been so long delayed in getting posted. I've been meaning to, but life has been busy, and I really wanted some time to think through this next series...

The qoute in the last post was our sort of kick-off for the series. If you really think about it... to practice deferred-gratification, and the pain there is in learning, we must first of all be found... faithful. Noone can stick to their standards and the pain it takes to grow, and become more like Christ, without being faithful to Him and what He has told us in His word. So often we hope God will endow us with all this knowledge, when we won't even put in the effort to read our Bible and toil to learn it. This takes us back to the point discussed in the last video of the series by the Harris brothers. If you remember, they discussed how the Vikings would row themselves to battle-instead of using slaves-and by that they were virtually undefeated becuaes of the strength they got from rowing. We can apply that to our walk with God; by learning to "row ourselves to battle" in our spiritual walk, instead of hoping our parents or pastor will do it for us. I won't belabor the point that I already made, so if you need to refresh your memory you can re-read the post.:) But, if we take our walk with God seriously, we will "embrace the pain of learning" by toiling in the Word and learning what God says about what we are to be about. The toil applies in many areas; such as prayer, reading our Bibles, and fasting. These all take deferred-gratification, actually! There is always a choice to use the internet instead of reading our Bibles and praying, or caving into eat when we know God told us to fast, etc. It may be painful, but we reap a great reward in the end of it.As it says in Galatians 6:7-9 : "Be not devieved, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season shall we reap, if we faint not." The priciple of reaping what you sow. But we must be faithful in it. We will reap a harvest, if we are willing to toil and work, and we do not give up when we are weary. It can be hard, but it is the first calling of someone who is willing to follow Christ to DO hard things. We are first called to be faithful in doing the hard, small, inward things. Noone is called to the ministry who isn't first found faithful in little. See 1 Cor.4:2 and Matthew 25:14-30. Faithfulness is key to first having the inward greatness that God wants in us who are called to be used greatly by Him. We so often reach towards the great things that call for attention from others, but in our time alone we stoop to mediocracy. God didn't call us to live our personal life "like the average joe"; the lives that are used greatly by God all started with a heart change and a desire to follow God faithfully even in small things. So it's up to us to take the first step for our generation. To be faithful in the small things, to practice "deferred gratification" if you will, so God can then multiply it and use us in greater things then we could ever ask Him to. Don't shy away from doing things that are hard just because they are small; they are the building blocks for the rest of your life. You will reap what you sow, and if you patiently begin sowing seeds now for later on in life, you will be prepared to do great things for God when the time comes.

Questions:

What areas do you need to work on that are small that God calls you to be faithful in (prayer, Bible reading, etc.)?

What areas could you practice deferred-gratification in, so that you can learn more about Him? Would it be by taking a break from T.V., the internet (or for you Facebook people out there! :)), sleeping too late to read your Bible, etc.?

Yet also, are you becoming laxadazial and not moving forward, living in hard things God gave you long ago; using "faithfulness" as an excuse for laziness?

Stay tuned for our next post in this series; and please leave your thoughts in the comment bar!

The Art of Inward Greatness series, Quote from John Piper "kick-off"...

Our next series will be on inward manifestations of greatness that will come in the life of a Child of God before they do great things for God.
We will simply begin with this quote as a way to "kick-off" the series; and then we'll start very soon. For now, I'd like you all to really think over this quote and how it applys to you as a Christian.

"This is basic to all growing up. Part of maturity is the principle of deffered gratification. If you cannot embrace the pain of learning but must have instant gratification, you forfeit the greatest rewards of life."
-John Piper

My question to you:

What are certian ways we must practice deffered gratification so that God can teach us, and mature us?

I really can't wait to start this series, it is so foundational to the spirit of the person who strives to do great things for God. We must first learn inward greatness, and all else follows. But a lot of the learning involved in how to manifest inward greatness does lean on deferred gratification; we could also call some of it sacrifice. I will go into detail later how we can practice that daily, and certian areas the Lord has shown me that help me learn deferred gratification that helps me mature my walk with Him. Hope to hear from you all more as I get into this series!

The fabulous life of a teenager, video series, by Alex and Brett Harris, part 4

Hello everyone,

Here is the next video. I hope you all are watching them! I will say to all of you who have commented or come to me with encouraging words, THANK YOU! It means a lot to get your feedback!

This is a perfect ending to our series and actually will be a good "kick-off" for the upcoming one, as it leads right into it. What we need to gather from this video is the call to put effort into growing stronger in Christ. Think of the Vikings; as Brett said, they would row themselves to battle though it was difficult, and through that diificult task they grew strong and were virtually undefeated.  Now apply that to the Christian life:
Don't  expect your parents or your pastor to "row you to battle". Don't sit in Church and only learn from what your Pastor is telling you; put forth your own hand and toil in the Word yourself. You will grow strong in the knowledge of His word that way and will be undefeatable by the enemy.  The Word is your sword, and if you are consistent in welding it you will become an expert.  Think of picking up a heavy sword and trying to fight a deadly army without practicing first! Or gaining the strength it takes to weild it with skill and precision! Our hermenuetics class at Church has blessed me in that point; I'm realizing how strong and "deadly" (towards our enemy, the devil) we can be if we have used our sword correctly... Pastor Gentry put it perfectly in the hermenuetics class: "A servant who knows how to use his tool correctly will be profitable, but one who does not know how will become dangerous".  Which are you; profitable or dangerous?
So how well do you know how to weild your sword? Are you gaining the strength it takes to weild it? Or are you relying on others older then you to do that for you? Remember, they won't always be there to do that for you.  Learn now, and glory in the strength the Lord has given you!

I know many times it can be hard to do the toil ourselves. It will take self denial and lots of hard work, but it is worth the effort on the end. Praise God for those who will try even when it is hard.  That is the spirit of a true follower of Christ and someone who strives to live for God's glory.  It will hurt in the beginning especially-just like a good work out will- but as you continue and begin to strengthen your mind and heart you will find it less of a battle.  God blesses those who put forth the effort in seekng after Him.  So, "be strong, quit you like men..."!
The beginning of doing hard things for Christ will start in your own heart.  God only gives great tasks to those who are faithful in the small, such as reading our Bible, praying, honouring our parents, caring for others... the list could go on and on. You get my point though.

It all starts at the HEART.

Our next series will be discussing exactly that.  We must strive for greatness of character, integrity, before service.  And it will always come first for a Child of God.

If you all are wondering what Alex and Brett were talking about in the very beginning of the video on the issue of grown men and women who are still like teenagers, I would HIGHLY recommend you read their articles "The rise of the kiddult" ("The myth of adolescence" part 1 and 2 will also be helpful if delving into that subject,) at therebelution.com .  It seems to be a growing trend (and problem that will face the next generation) , especially in the U.S.  But I won't go into that now; I will just direct you to their articles. :)

Please be in prayer as we begin the next series; it is very important that the next series is taken to heart before all else, because it is the foudation of all other articles that will be posted.

Blessings,

The fabulous life of a teenager, video series, by Alex and Brett Harris, part 3

Here is part 3 of these videos. I hope you all are watching them and learning from the Harris twins' discussions!

This is probably one of the most important videos in the series. I hope you payed close attention to what they taught. I do not wish to re-state all they said, but the two points I would like to review are these:

Remember what was said in the beginning of the video?  Babies have to overcome their obstacles of learning to walk, talk, etc. and yet teens aren't expected to be able to properly carry on a normal conversation, let alone speak out in front of a crowd. This applies in many areas, but this is just one. We lower our standards to less then our God-given potential.

Also, the diving-board was mentioned. This is an awesome example of how we are to use the teen years; and how, if used properly, they can extend the lengths to which we are able to "dive into" service. If we cling to the "diving board", though, we will abuse the time and energy God gave us to prepare for the future "leap". But if we prepare we will take the leap gracefully, and "make waves" in the pool, persay. It's something for you all to think on.

Some questions for you:

If babies are expected to overcome their obstacles, what do you think should be expected of us in certian areas? Do you think the idea of how far our potential lies has been lowered?

In what areas are you, persay, "clinging to the diving-board"? Are you preparing yourself for service, or are you standing on the edge, scared of what lies in the waters? How can you take a leap today?

I hope this gives you all something to think on and that you all will leave your thoughts for me!

The fabulous life of a teenager video series, by Alex and Brett Harris, part 2

Hello everyone,

I thought I should be moving on to the next video now, since there are seven total for us to cover. I hope you all aren't afraid of commenting; I want the feedback from you all so I can have an idea when to move on, and to make sure that you don't have any unanswered questions or thoughts. It's also encouraging to know you've visited!  It's important, so leave me a comment!

Please pay close attention to this next video, and when you are done be sure to read the questions below and put your thoughts in the comments!

Wow, what an amazing story; I think we all can echo Zach's story in some way.  We all struggle with some area in our life on speaking out for the cause of Christ, or for those who cannot speak for themselves.  Once we learn to act in spite of our fears and let God speak through us, He will give us strength to overcome our weaknesses and do great, even hard, things for the glory of God.  "Courage is not the absence of fear", someone once said; and like Zach, if you learn to speak out in the midst of fear, you too may become "the most unlikely hero" of your generation.  Our generation needs more Zach's.  Young people who find a cause greater then themselves and their fears, and decide to act even when it is uncomfortable or hard.  I was greatly inspired last year when the Glorybound quartet came through, and one of the singers testified that he suffered from anxiety of even talking one on one with someone; and yet he felt that God wanted him to overcome that obstacle in his life and serve in a facet that challenged his fears.  God's strength was truly magnified by that. If only all of us had the same heart, the same vision; to attempt to do that which challenges us, instead of staying in the comfortable, the status quot of life.  So I challenge you today to find a cause greater then your own fears; to decide today to live doing great things for God.  If more of us would go beyond ourselves- relying on God -we could change the heart of this generation for Christ.

Will this world remember you were here for what you did for the cause of Christ and others?
I pray they will remember our generation...
That we lived for more then our self.

The teens of our generation have the choice now -it is in our hands- we can decide to find our purpose and raise a cry for the world to hear. It's up to you now; what will you choose? The status quot and comfortable, or a life driven with purpose and passion?

Questions for you:

What fears keep you from doing what God put you on this earth to do?  Or are you doing what God wants you to in spite of your fear, etc.?
If you are pursuing what God has called you to, how are you overcoming the obstacles you face?

"Courage is not the absence of fear". How do you display that in your daily life as well; such as witnessing, speaking out about the truth on subjects that are not p.c. or popular (such as abortion, modern-day slavery, etc.)?
Have you sought God and asked Him to show you if He would have you to be actively involved in fighting lies our generation faces daily (like Zach Hunter, and many many others who will be posted here as time allows) ?  If He has given you direction, are you acting upon it?

Please leave your thoughts in the comments, and join me as we continue this discussion very soon.

The Fabulous Life of a Teenager video series, by Alex and Brett Harris

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd start out posting these videoes by the Harris twins. I will admit that most of my thoughts have spawned from their book Do Hard Things and Start Here (I would HIGHLY recommend every teen to read them) , as well as their website (check it out at therebelution.com) ; so I thought I would post their video mini series for you all to watch. I will post the first one this evening, and some questions and comments for you all to respond to and think about.
Please take the time to watch each one as they are posted; they are short, ans are much more productive then any youtube video you might decide to watch during that time!

Did you catch the part where he said that the word teenager was not in print in the U.S. until 1941 in a Reader's Digest article? We have defined the young adult - the teen- since then, as a time frame where we are free to do as we please, instead of preparing for later on in life for greater things. We have so much potential with our energy, large amounts of free time, and less responsibilty then an adult, and yet we have lowered ourselves to less then we were meant to be. We have shackles of fear -of failure or of man- of laziness, so many things, that have made us think we cannot possibly reach forth and do great things for God in our teen years. So my questions to you are:

What lies do you believe that teens are being decieved by that hold them back from their greatest potential?
How do you think we can defeat those lies; inwardly and outwardly?

How do you think the teen has been defined specifically since the time-frame of the Reader's Digest article?

What " shackles" are holding you back from something that is hard for you, or that seems to great for you to attempt?

Feel free to post your thoughts or questions on this!

Why "A Generations Battle Cry" ?

You may ask why I named this blog A Generation's Battle Cry. I will explain as best I can, and give you all an idea of what I have purposed for the theme of most of my posts to be:

I have been realizing more as I go through my teen years how many lies the teens of America have been brought to deception and defeat by. We are told that when we hit 13 we are to be rebels, we are to live a life of uselessness, simply for self and for what we want now. I believe instant-gratification is probably best practiced by the young generation of the U.S., and it has become the normal, even expected, to see this in a teen.  We live for now, instead of using this time that is void of major responsibility to prepare for greater things.  The teen has the capability not only to prepare for great things in the future, but to do great things now... yes, I said now.  There are many that are already recognizing the lies put forth to teens across the country (and around the world) , and have decided to raise a standard against it.  (More on a few of them in later posts).  This is a culture-war that many teens are deciding to fight, and I believe that if enough of us decide to be the change that so many long for in America's teens, we will see the change.  A war is on the hands of the young generation of America, to fight for the next generation.  It's up to you now to make that choice to come alongside and fight, to raise the battle-cry... to be quiet no longer... will you join them?

The topic of many of my posts will be on different young men and women who have decided to go against the expectations of teens in our culture, and how we can also raise up a standard for the Lord in our society.  So please follow along as we dive into some important subjects very soon.  And be sure to place your thoughts, questions, or post topics you'd like to see in the comments.  I'd greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts on the posts, even if you are not a teen.  Parents, we want your thoughts on these subjects: what you wish you might have done differently as a teen to prepare for adulthood, and what you think you should see in us as teens.  You were once "the next generation", so help us along to raise up the next generation for God's glory!  God bless you all!
